Building a Legacy
A Family Business Furniture Store
Jim Rolfson, patriarch of Rolfson’s Home Furnishings started his business at this site in July of 1979. His expert ability at selling helped the store thrive. He continued working until his death in 2006 after spending over 50 years serving Skagit County doing what he loved to do best. In an article written in 2000 by Business Pulse he was quoted “Working with your family has both benefits and drawbacks. One positive aspect includes interacting with your children as adults, he said. It’s been fun, I’ve gotten to know them by working with them here, something I didn’t get to do when they were kids growing up”.
His son Brian is now the owner of the furniture store that’s beginning its 35th year in Skagit Valley. Jim’s daughter, Pam can still be found in the office doing the bookkeeping and going on the sales floor during busy times. The 3rd generation has now taken place with Brian’s son, Kyle on the sales floor and managing the delivery staff.
Rolfson’s Home Furnishings is the valley’s exclusive LaZBoy Comfort Studio carrying their full line including recliners, sofas, sleepers, sectionals and motion/reclining furniture all still proudly carrying the “Made in America” tag. We also carry a variety of coffee tables, end tables, chair sides and lamps to compliment the furnishings of your home.
